Day +2: Blurrrggghhh
Not feeling overly great today. Had a broken night's sleep - nothing nasty, just waking up a lot. My one complaint about SECU House (which I feel really bad about making) is that someone decided that floodlighting the building was a good idea - doesn't really go with slatted blinds in the windows. If I stay there again, I will take a black tarp with me. We packed up and were on the road to the hospital by 9:15 having been told that my 10 a.m. check-in time was only a suggestion. We had to wait about half an hour before my room - 711 - was ready which wasn't too bad.
Soon after moving in, an army of nurses (sorry for the generic term) came to visit to ask how I was and to listen to all kinds of bits of me. They also got to take part in a Skype call from Sam which was good for a giggle.
Since then, Susan and I have amused ourselves at other people's expense watching the local Highway Patrol pull drivers over on I-40 which runs a couple of hundred metres from my window. We've no idea what the drivers have done as that takes place over the hill to the west of here. And if a cop goes by while the HP officer is doing his job, he also stops to see if everything is OK which is nice. (A lot of cops get shot in the USA about which the GOP in particular does nothing except make it easier for the cop shooters to get guns.)
There is a 200' walking track around this floor of the hospital - not far but it moves the blood around. Not sure how many laps I did this morning - maybe 6. There's also an activity room with exercise bikes so I may take a pedal there later today to try to revive.
Must get round to grading some work from the end of the semester at school - you can't imagine how attractive a proposition that is and I don't want to go writing crappy comments. But first it is time for lunch which I have ordered but they seem pretty busy in the kitchen so there will probably be a bit of a wait.
