Day +80 (I think) - out and about in Asheville

Well, here I am on day +80 and feeling on top of the world (except all the walking is making my legs ache).  I've finally plucked up the guts to get out and about a bit last week.  Starting with a quick trip to Belk to grab Susan's birthday present, wearing my Darth Vader mask.  The charming lady who looked after me - Norma Jean by name but I wasn't a big enough prat to comment on it - decided I'd like to spend half an hour chatting with her (which I did) so it wasn't quite as quick as I'd hoped.  Yesterday I ventured into Home Depot to recycle a pile of batteries and CFLs.  Some smart person has moved the electric trolleys in front of the recycle bins which gave me more exercise than I'd bargained for.  While I was there I picked up the wherewithal to do battle with our perennial ants (we're not infested but there are always half a dozen of the little sods around), crickets and moles.  I wonder why I don't mind putting down glue traps for the crickets but object to doing it for the moles?
My crowning achievement was to don a light weight mask to go to two performances of Sam's last school play - Urinetown - in which he played Richard Burr.  Whoops, that should be Senator Fipp.  A great musical - it should have got wider attention.  A very moral musical, you could probably read into it whatever you chose.
Tomorrow I am going to take one more trip into the wilds of South Carolina to return the mikes that were rented for the school play - it seems odd that the school can afford two brand new revamped gyms but not a proper auditorium and has to rent mikes.  If I was the drama teacher, I'd probably have had a meltdown by now and been kicked out of the place.
But now we are anticipating the arrival of family members who may or may not have got snowed in up in New Hampshire.  Susan is out hiking and shopping with her sister Jean so I can only hope I wasn't supposed to have done something in their absence - you can only swing the chemo-brain excuse a certain number of times.
